The citrus plays a small part in this drawing, but I wanted to draw some robot Katzenjammer kids.

This is just awesome! I love it! The characters, their conversation and the style is great! I may have to save this as my new desktop image!

You did an excellent job. It’s so hard to find the right balance (of style, composistion, color, etc), and you did it.

Haha! Much in this reminds me of my youth, reading the Sunday comics: the characters, the color scheme, the situation. And “Mein Lemons!” reminded me of playing the computer game Wolfenstein 3D and shooting up the Nazis.
…Where was I going with this comment?
Oh yeah…Nicely done!

Hi, Dr. Meng!
I’m a long-time fan of the Katzenjammer Kids/Captain & the Kids comic strips and I love your interpretation of that style. I’ve been drawing in an old comic style for many years (actually, I’m nearly old enough to be OF the old style!), using traditional tools, like pens and India ink, but I’ve recently been mucking about with some vector tools. If you get this message, I’m wondering if you’d be willing to share the tools you used to create this art, including the technique used to get the faux “halftone” dots.
Best Wishes,
-Elwood

I’ve never heard of the Katzenjammer Kids until just now, but I love your comic. Very nice!
