Illustration Friday: Hide

When I read “hide,” a chameleon immediately sprang to mind. I thought of a Far Side-ish cartoon with a chameleon taking attendance at a camouflagers convention (see, everyone would be hidden, the chameleon would be frustrated…) but then decided to try a comic strip. And you can’t talk camouflage without inviting an octopus.
UPDATE: Dah! I figured from the get-go that the comic may not be totally obvious or easy to get but now I’m starting to obsess about it. Highlight the following section if you want an explanation: In panels 8 and 9 the chameleon’s tail is lifted by an unseen force. In 10 he’s being hung in mid-air. In 11 an octopus appears, the message being, “How do you like being picked on?” A lesson might have been learned, but instead they go into cahoots and continue picking on the poor ostrich.

Nice sequence. Well plotted.
However, now I am afraid of tree octopuses.
Or octopi.
Either one.

That is pretty funny…well planned and the octopus is so ridiculous that it makes sense…

great! I love their expressions - the way the chameleon laughs and then is totally surprised - really great!

No explanation necessary! Your story is as clear as can be. Great cartoon! You’ve inspired me to try some more comic strips, too.
