The Fabulous Philosopher's Stone by Carl Barks
|
|
|
|
Possessing
the power to turn any metal to gold, the Philosopher's Stone is one
of the world's greatest treasures. It is fitting that it would be
tracked down by one of the world's greatest treasure hunters, Scrooge
McDuck. The story of this adventure is in Carl Barks' Uncle Scrooge
and the Fabulous Philosopher's Stone. |

Scrooge
gets the help of his nephews Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The five
ducks travel around the world from Bavaria to Baghdad, from Rome to
Damascus, and finally to Crete. They are dogged every step of their
way by a mysterious bearded man. Do they find the Philosopher's Stone?
I'm not going to ruin the ending. |

Carl
Barks (the author) was a story artist for Walt Disney. When he started
making comic books, he created Scrooge McDuck. This adventure has
all the elements of an excellent Carl Barks adventure: exciting locations,
funny moments, and interesting characters. It is a great chapter in
the long history of the fabulous Philosopher's Stone. Duck images copyright by the Walt Disney Company. |
